Meet Ms. Wenzel
Hello and thank you for taking the time to digitally meet me. I have been teaching since Jan. 2002. I have taught 1st/2nd Multi-age, 2nd/3rd Multi-age, 2nd grade, and this is my third year in 5th grade! Additionally, I am also a tutor and work with students in grade K-8th grade to bridge academic gaps and help them continue to learn effective skills and strategies to become a confident, growth mindset, and successful learner! Volunteering is also a sunny spot in my life and I enjoy running/walking charity races and helping out at a local horse riding stable that offers services and lessons for those who have special needs.
Graciously, I have been a Teacher of Distinction twice! Additionally, I have also presented at UW-Oshkosh, for the Green Bay Diocese, and spoke for women’s Day of Prayer in Pulaski! In addition, I hosted a break-out session for the new teachers in HSSD on building student-teacher relationships and presented at HSSD Creation Days on Mindfulness. For Creation Day's Expo Day, I also displayed an exhibit and presented on writing. This past summer, I was part of a team from the district to design a curriculum and learning continuum for “Code” and was part of the Research Academy studying, Mindfulness.
I love 5th grade and each day excites, energizes, and revitalizes me! Every day I am in awe of the joy, passion, and energy students have to learn! They have an unfilled appetite to discover, create, inspire, help, and to not only step out of their "boxes," but get rid of their "boxes." They light each others "candles," and support each other as they fly off their branches to reach monumental heights! Blessed am I to be able to witness students valuing each others' learning styles, gaining a refined understanding of how they are successful, and applying their new knowledge at the application level!
I am thankful and honored to be a teacher. I am blessed to know that I am able to teach our future and meet so many wonderful, giving, and supportive school families. I commend the family and community connections and bonds that are strong, distinguished, and active in the Howard-Suamico School District!

Meet Mrs. Potts
Hello and welcome to the BEACH HOUSE! You will totally love it here. My name is Heather Potts, and I am excited to spend the year teaching you Math, Science, and how to be an incredible 5th Grade Rockstar! We will learn and grow and become absolutely incredible Beachers together!
My family and I moved here in July 2016. I’ve lived many places in my life, and Green Bay is by far my favorite. My husband works for Schneider in their marketing department. My sons Kaleb (12) and Sam (9) attend school in the Howard-Suamico School District. We have two cats named Smokey and Smudge.
I love teaching; it is what I was born to do. My passions are Packer Football, reading, science, math, and anything geeky. I love Star Wars, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and The Big Bang Theory just to name a few. I spend quite a bit of time outside with my kids enjoying nature, camping, and biking. I volunteer at my church, and LOVE coffee and dark chocolate.
